Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to the questions families ask most when starting home care services.
How do I know if my loved one qualifies for home care services? +
Eligibility depends on the specific service. Many waiver and Medicaid services require a DHS-approved assessment through your MCO or county case manager. Nursing services may be ordered by your physician. Contact us and we'll guide you through eligibility — no charge for the initial consultation.
What funding sources do you accept? +
We work with Minnesota Medical Assistance (Medicaid), HCBS waivers, UCare Minnesota, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Veteran Benefits, MCO plans, and private pay. Services may also be covered through long-term care insurance. Contact us to verify your specific coverage.
How quickly can care start? +
For private-pay services, we can typically begin within a few days of your initial assessment. For Medicaid or waiver-funded services, the timeline depends on your MCO or county authorization. We work to move as quickly as possible — especially in urgent situations.
Which counties do you serve? +
We serve clients across multiple Minnesota counties including Hennepin, Ramsey, Anoka, Wright, Sherburne, Dakota, and Stearns. Client acceptance depends on staffing availability rather than strict county borders — if your county isn't listed, please contact us. We continue expanding coverage to meet community needs.
What is Home Care Nursing (T1002 / T1003)? +
T1002 and T1003 are Minnesota Medicaid billing codes for Home Care Nursing services — visits by a licensed RN or LPN to assess, monitor, and provide clinical care at home. These services are ordered by a physician and covered under Medical Assistance. They differ from personal care (which does not require a nurse).
Can I choose my caregiver? +
Yes. We make every effort to match you with a caregiver based on skills, schedule, language, and cultural preferences. If a match isn't working well, just let us know — we'll find a better fit at no extra cost.
